<DIV></DIV>Well it works. I used a 34 inch bat. Cut down the sides to fit the 1-1/2" 
<DIV></DIV>opening. It is Ok under light winds, as expected. but when I slid under 
<DIV></DIV>the port cockpit bench, I was holding on for dear life. Surprising, no 
<DIV></DIV>dents, in me or the boat. I will function well with a full boat load of 
<DIV></DIV>people, or as an emergency tiller.
