[Rhodes22-list] New Guy

I'm good on electrical stuff, I wired my house in '76 and it hasn't =
burned down yet.
I'm comfortable with basic hand and power tools.  I'm a fairly competent =
wood worker. Don't know much about metal work or fiberglass.  My boat =
work has been limited to patching my coleman canoe and installing a sail =
rig salvaged from a super snark on the canoe,  a far cry from a cruising =
sailboat.  One of the main things I'm looking for is advice on what to =
watch for in evaluating older boats.  Especially Rhodes specific issues. =

It rally depend on your background, time, and know the issues of boat
repair. I your are an engineer, only you can say how handly :-) Have you
worked on boats before ?

I just joined the list and wanted to say hello.  I'm a wannabe Rhodie at
present and trying to decide whether to buy a cheap project boat now (a
Rhodes) or save my pennies and buy a recycled Rhodes later from the
Spitzers.  I'd like to hear from anyone who has restored a Rhodes on =
their
own and has some advice to share.  I live near Washington DC and would =
be
sailing mostly on the Potomac River and Chesapeake Bay and would also =

to meet Rhodies in my area.
