John,  A sailboat is for fun.  Unless you enjoy working on boats, I 
recommend a recycled boat.  I am constantly shocking people by telling them 
that my boat is an 1986 hull.  It look buetiful, everything works as 
planned.  It is the first "new" boat I have owned and I am happy I went with 
that option.  As far as I know GB is the only manufacturer that offers such 
a service.  It costs but it is a nice service.  Hope it helps.
