if you are really in the mode, replace the pins/bails with snap shackles on the main sheet, that will give you 3:1 to lift
someone(i.e. life sling or inflatable with harness), the problem is the block that turns the topping lift into the cleat, it will
not take the load. you would want to attach the halyard to the boom(even odds you will forget in the rush :-), The stright halyard
has a few problems: having a few hundred pound(heavy and wet person) a perfect 90 degress to the boat and directly connected to the
mast head is not a good idea, the boom permits use from the cockpit no mast. etc...
