do not use a 24 inch number, the problem on a spring tide or a sting wind day(even lakes), any wind/wave action will have you
bouncing off the bottom, mud and rocks fouling the centerboard and trashing the bottom paint/hull. much better off asking for 5
feet. The other issue is the centerboard itself, it is designed to rollup not be pushed up like in a falling tide or the water
running away from it in a storm. It will break thought the centerboard cap flooding the boat. may sure always to put it up. The boat
with the centerboard up behave much like a deep v powerboat(wind vs tide in swing), do not let them put you near a standard keel
sailboat they will not swing in sync.
