Ed,

I can't lay claim to Roger's engineering talent, I'm a far cry from an
engineer, not a bit shy to admit it. I do know when my boat sails well
though. The way the R22 handles I would have a hard time believing that the
folks who designed her were not VERY competent marine designers/engineers
who carefully considered every design aspect of this design. I don't believe
that one very often gets anything to work as well as this boat does, without
a lot of careful consideration. I would bet that the R26 was no different.
Although my feeling is that any engineering is an educated guess to a
certain extent, until the prototype is built, tried and proven.

Guess I should read that book.
