	They are both under the seat, aft end (about 9" clearance for me),
and I have the full cockpit cushion strips as well.  The filler cap and gage
stop the tank from sliding all the way in, unless you do some X-Sailing.
One of mine resided completely under the seats (after a few wet rails) for a
few months that way, but cool weather has a way of sucking it's guts in.

Gil,

Have you tried it under the seat?  I have a 3.6 gallon Yamaha Metal tank and
it doesn't have much extra room above it.
