[Rhodes22-list] Antifreeze alternative question

Yeah, that's what I've always done in the past. However, the water tank on
the boat is a real bear to rinse thoroughly, and the camper isn't a whole
lot easier. I rinse three and four times, sanitize with bleach, etc. I can
still taste the stuff.

I'm simply looking for another way, and booze would be a great way to do it
if it won't eat my plumbing.

At this point, I'm using the 'drain thorougly, blow out the lines, then
pray' method.

I'll still use RV antifreeze for drain traps, etc.

Doug,
A thorough rinsing in the spring should eliminate all antifreeze and taste.
A
mixture of chlorine bleach and water will clean and sanitize the tank.
That being said, I only use the tank water for washing and cleaning. I take
drinking water aboard in plastic bottles I keep in the ice box or in a
larger
thermos type bottle.
Why worry about cancer forty years from now? You're old enough that you
shouldn't be alive then anyway.

Rummy :)
