Thanks Roger, Alex. I do plan on installing the transducer thru-hull as
described. I have a 1986 hull, so we'll see what's there when I core her.

Roger, Joe,

Not all hulls are made the same.

Blew Daze, a 1997 hull, has about 3/8" to 1/2" at the transducer
installation site which is just inboard of the ice box location. I know
it's nowhre near 3/4" inches thick.

Additonally, when I cut the hole for our knotmeter, I placed it forward
of the centerboard well, about even with the head. The plug I pulled was
about 1/4" thick and was a core construction. Still have the plug in my
toolbox. I was surprized at the core construction, but this hull might
have been built by an outsourced manufacture.

bottom line, you need to check your own boat to be sure of what you
have.
