[Rhodes22-list] Yacht Club

Rummy,

I am considering a new genny but I wasn’t sure if I would be happy with the
175 except in really light winds. I am waiting for feedback on the UPS sail
to see how people compare it to the 175. I know you love your 175. At what
wind speed (when solo) do you need to start furling the 175 to keep the boat
from excessive heel and loss of speed?

One nice thing about the 125 is it fits perfectly inside the upper shroud
and stops just short of the spreader. I can point much higher with this sail
than my old 150 furled. I would think the difference would be even more
noticeable with the 175.

My Harken Furler does allow much better sail shape than the GB furler. Plus
sail changes are pretty easy. I am not in a rush but at some point I would
like to add a second headsail. I just need to figure out which one would be
the most versatile.

Wally
