Last year I wrote about making a shorter tiller.  I was to use a baseball
bat and cut down the sides.  I just realized that I never posted a results
e-mail.  It worked.  I will keep in on board as an emergency tiller, and
will occasionally use it on nice calm days, when the boat is full of people.
