[Rhodes22-list] Seat Drain Holes

Gentlemen,

My 1976 R-22 came with drain holes in the front corners of the gutters in
the cockpit seats. When the boat was unoccupied or everyone was in the
cabin, the fore/aft trim caused rain water to leak into the bilge from these
cockpit seat drains. I epoxied up the corner drain holes & moved them back
about 4". However, I also added two little blobs of epoxy under the seats
along the underside of the gutters fore & aft of the new drain holes. If
any water started running along the underside of the seats in either
direction, it would always drip off when it came to the little blobs of
epoxy. Viola! Instant bulletproof low tech solution. I've been sailing
this way since 1989.
