[Rhodes22-list] KY Lake in Sept.

Rob,

I think that was lace ???? :-)

And Ky lake is west of Virginia, but still east of the Mississippi.

Really, Kentucky Lake is a lake formed by a dam on the Tennessee River,
right near where it empties into the Ohio River, which is right near where
the Ohio emties into the Mississippi River. Actually, I believe there are 2
dams there. The other is on the Cumberland River, which runs almost
parallel to the Tennessee for quite a distance. This second dam forms
Barkley Lake. The two lakes are connected by a channel, just about a mile
or so south (sorta) of the Light House Landing resort where we stay. The
narrow strip of land between is called "the land between the lakes", and is
a national park and wildlife preserve. This makes for some very secluded
anchorages along that whole side of the lake. I have not yet sailed down
the lake further than about 20 miles or so. I think one could easily sail
down until he got to Tennessee if he wanted. Altogether I believe KY Lake
is about 150 miles long. It's in the western most part of Kentucky about 25
miles or so east of Paducah. I-24 goes within just a couple miles of it.
