Steve,

Today received a vertically adjustable ballmount drawbar (Drawtite # 6580) - it's the type that allows you to drop the trailer tongue for easier launch and recovery on the ramp.  It looks exactly like the one shown in the pictures of your "problem" trailer.  Anyway, mine is shiny new - and it has a 3/4" side-to-side play at the ball!  That's a lot of slop, IMHO, and may be just the sort of trigger to set off sway and fishtail on a trailer with a lighter tongue load.  

Have you measured your tongue weight yet?
