Marc,

            I had a wheel fall off when I towed my boat to Florida one
time.  If you need advice, know how, reply back.    Beside me, there are
others on the list that can help.  Speak up, and you will get at least
verbal assistance.  Bill Effros and Michael Meltzer live in NYC.   And,
furthermore, I was born in northern New Jersey and have many relatives
there.  I might be able to get you good assistance.

            Getting a wheel on a triad trailer is not an impossible
task.  When mine broke, all the lug nuts broke off.  The tow truck guy
banged out the bolts and reinstalled new lug bolts.  A  pair of new U
bolts that hold the springs to the axle had to be installed.  And all
this in less than an hour on I-95 on a hot Saturday afternoon.  When I
take the trailer now I carry a spare tire on the rim, five lug bolts and
five lug nuts.  This is situation has occurred before pulling heavy
trailers.

I am still trying to get the trailer fixed at that tow shop in New
Jersey. They kind of have me by the short hairs if you know what I mean.

 

I will report to the group when I finally get resolution.
