[Rhodes22-list] Still Looking

Bob,

Sorry I missed this question. I, too, have the GBI furler. I have been
making some noises recently about "upgrading" to a top of the line Harken,
but other R-22 owners, knowing my mantra of "if it ain't broke, don't fix
it" have questioned why I would do this.

I have never had the slightest problem with the GBI furler. (I have had
problems with a well known brand name furler.) If I keep proper tension on
the lines it never jams. I have used it in all kinds of weather, and it
always functions perfectly. The single metal tube trailers well. The hole
in the spool allows you to clip the unit to the mast.

I think I'll keep it.

Bob,

The "tube" roller furling is by GBI. I have it on my boat and have
not had any problems with the furler. It is simple and seems to be
pretty bulletproof. The disadvantage is that you have to lower the
mast to change headsails. Not a problem if you only own one.
