hi jay i use 1/4 halyard and picture #9 is the block....that block was originally mounted on the deck and i have had no problem with it..however this spring i am thinking about thru bolting it with a backing plate...i would like to discuss this further with others who may get the sail..as for laying up against the genny..im not sure what you mean by that..please explain best tom
