Attached are some pictures of the "Blizzard of 2003." We have an inflatable
boat, so hopefully could use that to transport to and from shore when away
from the dock. Other than that we would never be anywhere that the dog would
have to wait more than 8 hours, which is the maximum that people say a dog
should have to wait. None of the dogs up until now have been water dogs. The
two Bulldogs sink like rocks, and I found that out the hard/wet way. The
older golden retriever never was around water as a puppy to get excited over
it, and now in his old age just doesn't care. I guess this summer will be
the real training period, take her frequently so she grows accustomed to it.
theres a little dinghy launch/swim area at the marina, so try to test out
some swimming there. Rummy's dog has the right idea, using the swim latter
to reboard, maybe she'll take to that as well. Too early to tell her
training personality yet, but so far she knows simple commands, and gets
sidetracked overy so often. 9 months is when advanced things such as the
swim platform will really take on to her.
