[Rhodes22-list] Free Education

I am getting tired of being one of the few "liberal" voices around here,
but has everyone forgotten the education has other functions besides
preparing people to make a living.

As I understandstand it, gaining an appreciation for and understanding
of literature, painting, music, theater, and (gasp) philosophy, is
supposed to be an important part of higher education.

Much better to spend the time and money on the NCAA.

Good point, Paul. However, I doubt that anyone's getting smarter
listening
to me. (sigh)
