[Rhodes22-list] Illegal Immigrants

Alex,

Now its confession time. I've been as big a part of
the problem as the solution. A partner and I built a
spec house last year and it wouldn't have gotten done
on time and on schedule without illegal immigrants.
As is the case with so many of the construction trades
these days you have legitimate legal sub-contractors
using illegal immigrants. Everyone knows what is
going on but no one asks too many questions. The
illegals do good work though and that is why they
permeate those trades. The locals who could engage in
those trades don't because their needs are being taken
care of and their work ethic is lacking. Ugly talk
but true. The correction will take generations to
change if it ever does. I agree we do not need to
provide illegals with government services. If we go
down that path we only corrupt a new group of
potential taxpayers.

PS: I have to go dump about 60,000 pounds of
hydrocarbons into the atmosphere this afternoon and
won't have access to a computer until Tuesday.
