[Rhodes22-list] Roger's Mud Bucket

Ron,

My point exactly! Not only would the foredeck require the incorporation of
the anchor locker itself + reinforcing around the edge to bring the
stiffness back. I think the hull in the vicinity of the bow & especially
the hull/deck joint might need some reinforcing as well. Then, once you've
done all that structural reinforcing + the anchor locker itself + the
anchor, chain, & rode up on the bow, how does that additional weight affect
the fore/aft trim of the boat? What do you need to do to bring the fore/aft
trim back to level on the waterline? It's just not the sort of project an
individual R-22 owner can realistically take on. Although, compared to some
of the things GBI has done to upgrade the R-22's systems over the years, a
foredeck anchor locker probably would not be that difficult

I've been using my mud bucket system for about 15 years now. It ain't
elegant, but it works.
