Bill,
	Contrary to what Rummy said, professional drivers routinely
exceed the recommended pressures.  Why? Too reduce the heat build up in
flexing.  Passenger tires used to say 30-35 max.  But your own New York
State Troopers used to always use 40 lbs.  The tires wore out in the
center, but they did not blow out.

Each brand of tire has it's own inflation guides permanently marked on
the
sidewalls of the tires. Do not exceed the recommended pressures.
