[Rhodes22-list] Securing Outboard Motor to Boat

Wally,
I use a krypton cable. Ugly but very obvious. It is long
enough so that it works when motor is up or down. I got it at either
Home Depot or Lowe's.

Rummy,

Your right WD-40 does help a bunch, if you give the lock a squirt every
now
and then it helps even more. I always seem to forget to keep up with
this. I
had someone tell me they melted wax on the key hole. I have never tried
it
but they swore by it. Many years ago I used to rent an old beach house
in
VA. I locked my bike to the deck for the winter and had to cut the chain

off! I tried soaking the darn thing in WD40 but it wouldn't budge.
Repeated
blows to the lock with a hammer didn't seem to help either. :-)

Anyway all this talk about locking the outboard has got me thinking so I

will most likely do something.
