Brad,

Glad you were able to loosen rudder, it is always nice to save a few bucks.
By the way, I forgot what kind of boat did you get? What does your boat
draw? Are you keeping the R22?

I think Chattanooga got the worst of the flooding but then again that is
historically the case. Before TVA came along Chattanooga used to flood
frequently. The problem really wasn't just the rain the last two weeks. We
had about the same amount 6 weeks or so ago. Water levels here were already
higher than normal spring pool so things were much worse. I know they opened
the spill gates on all the damns around here. I would think if the spring
showers are over things will return to normal in a week or so, just a guess.

Your on Pickwick aren't you? ....The couple in the slip next to me are new
to sailing. Last year they bought an O'Day 222 and wanted something bigger
with in four months. A couple of weeks ago they wound up buying a Catalina
30 (1980 something I think) home ported in Pickwick. I don't know the name
but it has been down your way for a while. Do you know anyone who sold a C30
lately? Anyway they were in the process of moving the boat up river when all
this mess started. The boat has been sitting in a marina at Florence for
almost two weeks now waiitng for the river to calm down. Last I heard all
the locks on this end were still shut down. They said Pickwick was a nice
lake.

Sailing Saturday was more like ocean sailing and I had a blast. It was the
first time we actually got a little soaked while sailing the R22. Between
the extra strong current, constant whitecaps and the heavy wind the boat was
really bounced around. We almost broached a couple of times running with
furled main and genny! There is still a lot of debris floating around but we
managed to stay clear of every thing. All in all boat and crew handled it
well. I chickened out Sunday, it was blowing a steady 20 - 30 according to
local weather guys. Heck I was still worn out from the Saturday joy ride.
