I try to stay out of the threads about politics because quite frankly, I am naive about politics in general.

But thanks to a few nice fellers here, I'm getting quite smart.

  I have learned:

(1) New words (had to look them up) like vitriolic, pundit, insular and oligarchic; and even some near words like (such as) neanderthalesque, and previcating

 (2) I learned that trees are a crop and if we cut all of them suckers down in California, then those million dollar houses would not burn up. (I guess then they wouldn't have anything to crash into when they slide down the hillsides either)

 (3) (I missed this in ECON 101) If the dollar weakens globally, then our products become more competitive on the world market. I am still trying to figure out if this is a good thing.

 (4) It is Bill Clinton's fault that the World Trade towers were destroyed..and (4a)...someone was there when he got his "Monica"?!?

 (5) If we want to fight terrorism in a world war, then we need to take the fight to where the terrorists are.........but where are they? (still scratching my head)

 (6) Bill Clinton paid off the national debt, but Bush ran it up again (that dirty bastard!!). And NOPE, I am not giving the $600 back!! Besides it trickled down......don't ask where either. :-) (alright...I pissed it away OK? LOL)

 (7) If I run all of my credit cards up to their limits and get a mailbox full of bills, am I a liberal before I write checks and still have "surplus" of money in my checking account and a conservative after I pay all of my monthly bills!? (that seems backwards to me)

Maybe I would be more knowledgeable about such things if I cut back to only working 60 hours a week -- (trying to make ends meet) -- and start watching the news.

:-) Todd
