Well Steve,

I am still trying to figure out if I am a liberal-conservative or a conservative-liberal. Since my office is on the top floor of the closest federal building to the White House, (Dept. of Commerce....15th St & Pennsylvania Ave.) maybe this will confuse potential terrorists too, and if they try that plane trick again, I hope they end up parked next to Air Florida flight 90.

I guess that being on welfare, makes one a liberal by definition?

I just thank God that I have two hands and I am healthy enough to work to support my family. It could easily be me on that corner with a cardboard "homeless and hungry" sign, so I pitch a few coins into their paper cups when I pass by. Ask THAT guy if he is a liberal or a conservative of if he agrees.

I work in a unionized trade where all work is handed by the union hall and lay-offs follow the work. When I was still an apprentice, I was laid off for several months. I worked odd jobs and had to rely on food stamps and coupons for milk, bread, baby formula, and diapers. Was it embarassing to stand in line at the local grocery store and have my neighbors see me paying with food stamps? Sure! but you know, frankly I didn't care. My family's "welfare" was more important than my pride.

Crazy things happen every day. I could get hit by a bus and my family be forced to accept welfare. (I guess only conservatives are smart enough or rich enough have disability or life insurance) So, you see, I don't like to knock anyone when they are down. If you think the welfare system is broken and too many liberals are getting a free ride on your dime then write to your congressman with suggestions how to fix it.

Todd

P.S. I haven't heard you complain about them doggone old people living off your medicare taxes yet?!?! :-) Whoooooosh (sound of a can of worms being opened) LOL
