[Rhodes22-list] port light replacements

I could not accept remuneration for any of my advice - particularly if based
on worth. I would starve to death. (Bets, maybe.) Re windows for older
boats, no one makes that size anymore (the pitfall of outliving suppliers)
and you have to bite the bullet and change the opening dimensions with
fiberglass - it can be done but it is a pain and one of the reasons why we
do not buy back early boats for recycling. (Of course if you do fiberglass
new opening sizes, we can sell you all six windows at a profit.)

Thanks, Lou.

Now that we've established where you stand on this issue, you've got to know
it will never happen. Stan doesn't have the time, and as a practical matter
there isn't enough time in anyone's day.

People on the list will give you a lot of help, and as we all sort out the
answers, the list becomes smarter than any individual on it, with the
possible exception of Stan.

Ask away, and many people will do the best they can. Let us all know what
you discover--report back. Try not to take Stan away from the paying
customers--if we're heading for a waterfall, he'll let us know before we get
there.

The list has a very interesting life of its own, and you are certainly
welcome to be part of it. A good question is better than a bad answer.

ED, Bill , Stan
I have printed and read the R22 archives on portlight replacement as
well as doing other searches online for details on measuring and
deciding which size to best fit into the boat depending upon existing
manufacture's specs and availability.
Bill/ Stan : I personally would be willing to PAY an ANNUAL FEE to GBI
for information on aftermarket parts, repairs and advice . I think it
would behoove everyone who owns a Rhodes to do the same as the info is
invaluable.
In my field of video production we are always asked if we want online
tech support for a large fee. YES there is online FREE support but you
have to wait for it . The manufacturer's dont get back to us on repair
issues EVER, we have to hire a shop or a specialist and wait. I
realize there is a major difference as our boats are not our work, but
since there is only manufacturer here who knows everything about the
boat and its parts, it only makes sense to compensate them for a
service rendered.
