[Rhodes22-list] R22 rating

Andy & Peter,

My club has always used PHRF but for some reason decided to change this
year. Last year (my first racing the R22) they had me at 270 for the PHRF
rating. I tried to get some cxonideration for having IMF main but no go. I
started late and missed too many races to place well.

This year I am in from the start and I am sailing with a 98.0 Portsmouth
rating. Again I think this is for the standard main but it is the only
number to go by. There is a bit of guess work involved in rating for the
various wind conditions. There is not enough data on the Rhodes 22 out
there.

I didn't buy my Rhodes 22 for racing as I am more of a cruiser/camper type.
I thought it would be fun to give it a try because I hadn't raced a sailboat
in 30 years. I am going to try to stick with it the whole year, we only race
once a month with no racein July. So 4 races down and about 27 to go ....

Fair Winds,

Wally
