Noise was a major factor when we went with our Honda 8 six years ago. We
do
a lot of weekend cruising where we have to be back by Sunday afternoon.
If
there's no wind (a common occurrence on the Chesapeake) we'll be
motoring
for 4 or 5 hours to get home. The Honda is quiet enough that we can
carry
on a normal conversation with one of us seated near the outboard. It's
much
quieter than the Yamaha 4hp two stroke that we had on our Com-Pac. It's
also possible to dress it up for the 4th of July (see the link for a pic
of
"Uncle San")

Ditto on the cockpit controls. We like ours a lot.
