Don't knock duct tape.  There is a boat on our lake
(don't know the model but is real slick, narrow & very
fast) where the owner has not wash it in a century. 
He got his sails from a guy that was using them in a
paint shop to cover the floor.  Holes all in them &
you guess it - Patched with duct tape.  Sure is a fast
boat.
