[Rhodes22-list] Winter sailing blues - cure found

Mary Lou,

He told me a story about running aground on the ICW. A big powerboat that
was going by so he called it on the VHF and asked the guy to give him some
big wake. The guy obliged and they were able to back off on the wave crests.
Imagine that - useful wake <g>.

The bottom of the keel looks like that because, in her current slip, she's
in the mud at low tide. Surveyor said no problem, though, everything's solid
and the anti-fouling paint is fine under the discoloration, though.

Mark

Mark,
Sounds like the voice of experience. Actually looking at the bottom of the
keel......

We haven't tried looking for high speed access on the water - heck we are
finally going to broadband here at home.

If you keep the boat in MD they'll want their piece of your pie. 5% excise
unless you've already paid that amount or more to another state. If that's
not a problem, you could get to Deale up 301 and stay outside of the
Beltway, Solomons too.

Keep us informed.
