Fred,

I agree with Michael. Get the CDI (or the Harken if you can afford it). Then
you can use your halyard and the pad eye on the deck for a UPS <g>.

sound like are trying to reinvent the CDI fuler, the F2 with ballbarring are
not that expenive, should be alot less hassels in the
end and know to work.
