Doug,

Sorry to hear your little one is having health problems. It's tough when
they can't tell you what is wrong. Had some issues like that with my
youngest son (long time ago now), although not as serious. Still lost a lot
of sleep and time running to doctors though.

Thought about the proximity to the ramp, but I think we are far enough down
where it won't be an issue. We will have to turn sharply to port to get out
of the slip in one shot though. This could take a little practice as HGL2
doesn't like to turn to port real well in reverse. On of the drawbacks of a
full keel, you know. Might have to back down to the alleyway (not that far)
and go forward from there, we'll see.

"Isn't LHL an awful long way for you to go for a sail? I thought I was far
away at 1 hour! Now I'm 20 mins"

Funny you should notice that :-) :-)

We tried putting HGL2 in a slip at Barkers Island, Superior WI, last
summer. Nice place, but we got to be aboard about 2 1/2 days all summer. Up
there, they are wanting to get all the boats out of the water by Oct 1st or
so. We are just so busy in the summer that we can't get away to anything
for more than a few hours at a time. When we were down at LHL at
Thanksgiving time, we got to thinking, we can only sail on more than a day
sail basis between Sept 20 and about the 15th or 20th of April. We might as
well have the boat in KY. You just can't use it at all in MN when we can
get free. Also, if I ever end up out of the trucking business, I want to
spend more time down that way in the winter. From there you can sail as far
south as you need to, to stay warm :-)

We're looking at being down there for a while in mid, late March. Got any
free time then???

Had that trouble with our R 22 once too. Fortunately, it was in the summer.
Leaves plugged the seat drains and the water went over the lip of the
lazzerette.. Better get her in where it's warm and you can keep her warm
till it all melts and you can bail it out. You don't want it to get the
chance to thaw a little and refreeze again.

I hope things improve for your little one. Say Hi to Robin and Dylan

Rik
