all went well. got off the dock around 2pm, The inboard diesel is great but the propwalk is a killer for the moves I need to make
getting off the dock. I need to try a spring line next time. motor out to the harbor. as usual if I need to be somewhere the winds
would not cooperate. The winds were about 5 knot and I was making 2, the boat is undercanvased for such light air. I have to try the
spinnaker next time. motor sailed for about an hour. the winds picked up to about 8 knot and became a real sail boat :-) making
about 5 knots now. boat is allot stiffer. full keel down and doing a reach, stay on the same tack for about 4 hours, winds got 10
gusting to 12+-, boat handed great, petty good tracking and never picked up more than 15 degrees. The rudder does feel a little
undersized and could be more balanced(more cord forward). got down to playland about 7pm. anchor than had to anchor again because we
where chased back. Feed everyone, they must have been hungry they ate my cooking :-) The fireworks where nice but short, might have
been a misfire that stopped the show. Greenwich show was about 1.5 miles away(timing the booms) so we watch that for an other 3/4
hour. everything wrapped up around 10:30. The weather was predicting a storm line coming thought in the mooring so we headed back.
No wind with mist and fog, but a full moon. Motored back doing some buoy hoping with GPS and running a parallel course a very lite
up tow/barge. got into the docks about 3am, got some sleep and took everyone out to breakfast. They got the rain right(about 2
inches) but no thunder that I heard. It realy does use about 1/2 gallion per egine hour. Sorry not to many powerboat storys, most
keep thier distance. Onlt one jerk who I thought was going to eat my rode when he crossed in frount of me.
