Actually I think this is good information for new boat people.

The boat world is different from most of the way we live on land. The boat captain is responsible. 

I have been flying airplanes (SEL) and boating for 30+ years. You see a lot of people with MMTB (more money then brains)   The good news is these activities are self cleaning. Those unworthy are either killed by their own stupidity or scared away. God bless JFK jr.

That is why I like boat (and aircraft) people.

I think you've chosen the wrong forum to hash out grievances that go with a
used boat sale.  This list is often compared to the marina bar.  A casual,
friendly place to share stories and advice.  

It's clear from others' posts that the whole thread is uncomfortable.  If
someone less known to the old timers had sent Michael's flame, he would have
gotten the "shape up or ship out" response from MJM himself.

I urge you to take it off line.

And for those who aren't enjoying the bickering, I suggest re-reading Jim
White's post from Wednesday.  I've done a poor job becoming acquainted with
a fellow Gulf-coast sailor (albeit far away), and I need to remedy that over
the next several days.
