[Rhodes22-list] Purchasing new genny????

Wally,

I'm with Rummy on this.

I don't race, and I understand using a different sail for racing purposes. Jay on Long Beach Island never sees winds under 5kts. He needs a sail optimized for high wind conditions.

But if you live in place where there are variable winds, and you prefer sailing to motoring, the 175 is a great sail.

Like Rummy, mine is always in use--heavy air, light, air--and like Rummy I keep noticing I'm still sailing when everyone else is motoring around for lack of wind, or not going out at all because of too much wind.

The 175 is not "pretty" in the traditional sailing sense, and I think a lot of people get rid of it for that reason. But in a functional sense, it's the most versatile sail you can buy, it was built for this boat, and it will allow you to sail powerfully in all kinds of conditions when others can't sail at all.

Wally,
As long as you already have a 125, why not go all the way for light air and
get the 175. I have it and love it, even in heavy air it's quite a performer.
