Schwarzenegger's Stem Cells Eligible to Seek
Presidency 
(2004-11-14) -- The Ninth U.S. Circuit Court of
Appeals today ruled that while the U.S. Constitution
forbids foreign-born California Gov. Arnold
Schwarzenegger from serving as President of the United
States, his stem cells could legally mount a White
House bid.

"Since the governor's stem cells were technically born
in the USA, they meet the constitutional standard,"
according to the 38-page ruling handed down today.
"Any clones produced from these cells could serve as
president, vice president, secretary of defense, or
all of the above at the same time."

A Silicon Valley-based group planned to start running
TV ads this week promoting a constitutional amendment
to allow naturalized citizens to serve as Commander in
Chief. The group cancelled the ads in the wake of the
Ninth Circuit's ruling.

"Forget the constitutional amendment. Send in the
clones," said a spokesman for the group. "We're
thrilled at the prospect of a
Schwarzenegger-Schwarzenegger national ticket."
