[Rhodes22-list] Politics -Tom Sowell

Tom,

Agreed. We should never be fighting undeclared wars. And if they are worthy
enough to declare, then the whole country should be involved and be on a
wartime footing designed to win. That certainly includes not being the
first president to ever reduce taxes during a war.

For the first time I do not understand Brad's point. He seems to be on our
anti war side: i.e. war is hell, we should not enter one unless we do it
whole heartedly to win etc. and at the same time mentions media that he says
are out of touch with reality. Yet most of the media he names are the very
ones who every night post the reality of the names of those dying for a war
that does not have the reality of a country-at-war behind it. Guns and
butter have already been proven not to work How many lives do we have to
toss away before we learn this simple reality. I have not heard one of our
leaders or met any of our citizens who said they would be willing to give up
their lives for this particular adventure.

Brad does offer hope though, for those who live long enough, by predicting
that the next president will not be a Republican.
