Roger,

 From that angle it is a bit hard to tell what is what on our Flickas 
headsail. It is actually a normal 110% jib on a ProFurl furler. It does 
have a pennant between the top of the furler drum and the foot of the 
sail which lets the sail ride about a foot higher than it would normally 
be. This is the way it was set up by the PO when I got her. I'm not sure 
why he had it so high, but it does make for easy visibility back in the 
cockpit. What you are seeing that looks like it might be a boom on that 
sail is just the sun cover along the foot. The thing that looks like it 
might be a block is just the drum on the furler, which is not really, 
but appears to be black in this picture. From that angle it is a bit 
hard to tell whether that is ahead of, or behind, the sail.

I have thought about trying this sail without the pennant, but the boat 
seems to sail quite well the way it is and I do like the easy visibility 
from the cockpit. As it is, there is also no contact between the foot of 
the sail and the pulpit or lifelines, which also suits me fine.
