If the draft were reinstated, it would start with men and women age 18, who 
had graduated from or finished with high school. At least it worked that way 
for Vietnam, minus the women part. Deferments were given for men that were 
accepted to and stayed in College or were married and had children. In other cases 
the sole surviving son was also deferred in order to keep the family lineage 
going.
