[Rhodes22-list] Merc 2 stroke 6hp

Thanks, Richard,

That was my question. I knew wind on the nose was useless, but I thought that a small electric motor coupled with a large headsail could make a "no-wind" day interesting.

<I imagine I will be able to "make my own wind" by moving the boat forward
using the electric motor. Do I understand this concept correctly?>

You will make your own wind al-rite but in a calm the generated breeze
(apparent wind) will be right on the nose and useless.

On the other hand; if the actual wind is very light and on your aft quarter
you will by motoring, bring it around towards the bow and sail faster then
you could otherwise.
