Thanks, Doug, for a thorough and well-expressed

Was it Stalin who said:

"Those who cast the votes decide nothing. Those who 
count the votes decide everything."

Perhaps it does not matter in the end whether Stalin
was the originator.  The point is made, and the 
question is in the air:

Can we have confidence in our electoral process, 
given the wide-spread distrust of the current 
administration and political machinery behind 
it, the stories of biased enfranchisement coming 
out of Florida, and the failure of the Deibold 
voting machines to provide a hard copy backup?

Many think not.

I an betting that even if Bush wins the 
Electoral vote count, he will lose the 
popular vote, possibly by a large margin.

In that event, you may not want to be 
anywhere near a big city.  Riots happen,
as we learned in Hartford and Watts.

Take care, dear friends, have your 
bug-out routes ready, and pray that you 
won't need them.
