[Rhodes22-list] Spiders on Sailboats

Does anyone out there have a solution on how to keep
spiders from building webs on sailboats? The sailboat
dock at the marina where "CoraShen" is berthed is well
lit, which attracts the bugs, which provides a
constant food source for the spiders. I can wash the
boat and return two days later to find it completely
covered with webs. They make their way to the top of
the mast - these must be non-acrophopic arachnids -
and it takes 15+ knots to get the wind meter working
again. The worst part is that spiders, like most
critters. need to do something with what they eat
after they eat it and they do it all over the deck.
I've searched the net for solutions and came up with
nothing. There are some products that claim to make
it more difficult to build webs, I guess you could
apply it to the stays, and some electronic deterrents.
They both sound like snake-oil to me.

Any ideas?
