This is a message sent to me by a friend about this very thing.  I thought
his solution was pretty clever.  He¹s given me a good report on how it¹s
working.

Hi Steve,

I hate re-tieing those jib sheets when reefing. I remember asking you why
they didn't clip on, and you talking about how much clanging around a piece
of metal hardware would do in that position. Here is a really cool way to do
it. i know you're boat is different now, but I pass this along to you, as it
could be used in other situations as well, as a quick fix if metal hardware
was broken or lost.

As you see in the photos below, you make a loop in one sheet, and a knot in
the other. (If it was one line, you could use an extra 6" piece for the
knot.) Lash them together. make sure the knot extends farther than the loop
so the loop takes the strain. Very simple, quick change, and no metal to
clang around.
