"You have been his apologist in his absence -- no secret there. "

Actually, very little of what I said had to do with Ed, it had to do with you. And you may have made your point, but you missed mine.

Your first post in this series (at least, the first one I saw) posed a "cute" little saying that I remember from junior high school days back in the early 70's. You know, the one about a battle of wits. I find that often people will rely on what they think are witty sayings in an effort to build themselves up. From there, you posted a bunch of gobbledy-gook that was supposed to somehow add credence to your "wit stature", when in fact it did just the opposite.

This isn't a defense of Ed, it's a candid look at a bunch of silliness on your part.

Do you finally get my point?

Guess Ed has missed the festivities,
being out of town. You have been his
apologist in his absence -- no secret
there.

I'm sure most now agree that some
messages should be sent off list. Thank
you for helping me make that point so
graphically, albeit awkwardly and
painfully.

Happy New Year, all, and please forgive
having to witness the messy proof that
privacy is not the same as secrecy, and
that there is a strong case for privacy
now and then...

Requiat in pace,
/Robert
