[Rhodes22-list] New sailor

Bob,

I agree. It is equally a shame you live so far from me thus
preventing me from attending your school! I learned out in the sound at
Atlantic Beach and cannot even describe the joy sailing brought me. I
grew up fishing and skiing that area on various power boats, but on a
sail boat, you can "feel and hear" the water so much better. Sounds
corny I know, but I'm just going to assume all you folks on the list
know what I'm trying to express.

Someone asked if we have a dedicated slip, and the answer is
yes. Whatever we end up with could sit moored to our dock at the lake,
which would probably be a lot easier that raising and lowering the mast
continuously.

To answer Deena's question, Kathy absolutely does not "really
feel it is necessary to use an annoying and insulting confidentiality
clause on what was (and I find for the most part is) a friendly website
that everyone here sees..." However, my boss, webmaster and legal
consultant feel it is absolutely necessary and so let me apologize if
anyone on the list has been either annoyed or insulted by the
disclaimer. I could attempt to remove it, but would risk losing my
career, and inadvertantly my income, thus never being able to own one of
Stan's fine R22's or any other boat for that matter. Indeed I may even
end up not being able to monetarily support PBS (if I ever chose to do
so). So please let me apologize to anyone who feels insulted and
annoyed. It is not intentional on my part.

Kathy

Kathy it is a shame you did not take my 3 Day A.S.A. basic Keelboat
sailing from Odyssey Sailing School, You would have learned to aboard a
R-22. In my professional opinion, If you can make a 15 foot boat go
where you want, you can sail a R-22, you will find it sails like a
little boat. As I tell all new sailors, pick and choose on weather.
3-10kts for the first season untill you have had a chance to make some
mistakes and test your new boat.
Congrats on your new lifestyle.
