[Rhodes22-list] Rhodes 22 vs. Precision 23

Nick,
We bought a 1996 Rhodes 22 recycled by Stan in 2003. Our friends bought a
brand new Precision 23 the same year. Everytime we take a trip with our two
boats, we have a crowd that gathers to chat with us about our Rhodes - they
get no one. Now I explain it to them that it's because our boat has a navy
hull and it's the color that attracts the interest. But that is just to keep
my friends happy.

I've also had the opportunity to sail on their boat several times. Yes, they
might be able to point higher in certain winds but the Rhodes is far more
comfortable. Example: we were both heading north on a broad reach with three
foot waves hitting on the port stern. They had to keep heading out as the
ride was too uncomfortable. The Rhodes rode through it with no effort and no
discomfort - it was actually fun.

In comparison, the Rhodes feels like a more solid boat and after sailing on
their Precision, I was very happy to set back on my Rhodes. Yes, it may cost
more - but it my book it was worth every penny.

Subject: [Rhodes22-list] Rhodes 22 vs. Precision 23

Hope somebody can help.

I want to purchase a Rhodes 22 but would like to do my homework first. I
have read various articles & reviews and the Rhodes looks like a great boat.
I have also looked at the information on the Precision 23 which does not
offer the same amenities but seems a faster boat ( and less expensive)

Does anybody have experience of comparing the Rhodes 22 vs. the Precision 23
in terms of performance, quality and value?

Looking forward to feedback

Nick
