[Rhodes22-list] To Rick Evans (and anybody else who wants to m now)

I'm with you Rick on two counts. It is sickening to lose your mast. Katrina got mine, and I'm going to need a pretty extensive recycle. In early September, she was in boat-show condition. Now, a wreck.

I'll post some more photos tonight.

I'm also on the same page about tipping someone who is demo'ing a product. You will find that Stan isn't your normal salesman, and you may find that you want to buy him a beer. (Or you may not. But I bet you'll like him.) But I think it would be a bit crass to offer a fistful of cash after a demo sail.

On the other hand, if any of you -- you listrning, Ed? -- want to tip me unexpectedly, go right ahead. I prefer large bills.

Ben

Ed,

I need to tip a guy who is trying to sell me a boat?
Thats insane, and I won't do it (I'm not cheap I am
actually a very good tipper but thats crazy).
As a matter of fact after reading that anyone would be
looking for a tip by giving me a demo of their product
I dont think I am going for a sail!

The boat that got demasted was a CLoumbia 22. It was
just sitting at my mooring. No one in Manhassett bay
as ever heard of anything like this happening before.

They say last Wednesday, some say Thursday that there
was a wicked storm 50mph plus winds. So I am assuming
it happened during that time. Bascially I didnt pay a
lot for the boat so I have a hard time putting more
into the boat then I paid for it. I am actually sick
because I prepaid my winter storage last week. First
time I was ever prompt in signing a storage contract
figures.
