[Rhodes22-list] Fw: Jay & Julia's Rhodes 22

I was lucky enough to charter a 45 footer in the San Juan Islands last
summer.  It was a trip of a lifetime.  It is absolutely beautiful.  We even
got to see a pod of orcas.  I could post pictures, but it wouldn't have the
Rhodes in it.  The water is quite cold so there isn't much swimming and the
winds were pretty calm the week we were there (July), but there were so
many great anchorages and ports of call that we barely scratched the
surface.  Living in the southeast, it is a long way over there but the
contrast to the waters over here made it seem like we were in another part
of the world.  You really had to watch the tides there as some areas would
actually develop standing waves from tidal flows.

I could go on and on, but suffice to say that if you ever get an
opportunity to get up there you should jump on it.

             Do they have internet on this Orcas Island in the San Juan
Islands?
You seem to have your own secret list going there in the Pacific Northwest.
Any chance of you getting these guys to post some pictures and experiences
about sailing in the famous San Juans?  I mean post them to this list.

Jay & Julia's Rhodes 22I am sure Stan would enjoy this.  Steve Jacobs, a
sometimes Northwest Lurker and Rhodes owner sent me this.  Pictured on the
magazine is a 1994 Rhodes 22 "Moccasin" owned by Jay Lucas and Julia
Turney.
They bought the boat new in 1994 and had Eldon bring it out to Sacramento.
They now live on Orcas Jay Lucas
on Orcas Island in the San Juan Islands in Washington state (Lucky guys).
