Enjoyed reading your take on China and agree with a lot of it.

Check out the double issue of Business Week (AUG 22 & 29) which not
   only gives a

comprehensive breakdown of China's economy but also compares it,
   currently and prospectively,

to India and the USA. Interestingly, some of the contrasts to Japan
   give a surprising

   perspective.

China treats each of its regions in a uniquely different and
   brilliant way while

maintaining complete control. Another T. Square is not likely to
   happen in the next

decade. Shanghai, despite its strategic location at the mouth of the
   Yangtze, is only

150 years old as a city. Hong Kong retains all of its prior aspects,
   except for the display

of a half dozen Chinese national flags hung in obscure places.

With regard to the liberal blood oozing from your statement about
   concern for

the human terms of birth control, the good news is that cannibalism is
   now virtually

non existent and almost everyone works. Compare that to the filth and
   squalor so

prevalent in India, without birth control. Those wishing to condone
   conception and

birth shy away when it comes to financially supporting the lives that
   follow.

Several several years ago there was a Rhodie get together in
   the evening at

one of the big boat shows. We had diner in a separate section of the
   cafeteria and Rose

provided additional refreshments. A Rhodes 22 pennant ID badge could
   be picked up

at THE booth and worn during the show to recognize each other and for
   advertising.

Cherish yesterday, dream tomorrow & live today!

   Next case,
   Shelly
